The sensor should be placed in the middle of the entrance, with the lens facing toward the inside of the litter box. If the sensor is not properly placed, it may not be able to detect when a cat enters or exits the box.

Yup, the unit where I just replaced the DFI and pinch kit did this about 1 day after replacement and won't even cycle now. I have another unit with the pinch detect fault so I will try the bypass on that unit. These things are such trash.With most litters, the clean litter should be below the suggested line.
